Short Summary
Margaret attacks Luffy using Ambition and is soon joined by other Amazons, so Luffy runs away. Pirate Empress Boa Hancock, the ruler of Amazon Lily and one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea meets up with the Marines close to Amazon Lily. She turns down a summons to war against Whitebeard delivered by Vice Admiral Momonga, and turns all his men to stone.
In Depth Summary
Luffy removes his bandages and thanks Margaret for her help before departing. As Margaret muses about the oddness of man(believing Luffy's rubber powers to be common to all men), Luffy returns and asks her to remove the frills on his clothes.
He starts to depart again, eager to find his crew-mates, but returns and asks if there's a ship he can use and is shocked to find out that not only is there no ship, but that the island is in the Sea King infested Calm Belt, which is impossible to sail.
Luffy asks her how they have a pirate crew in such a sea, and Margaret explains that in lieu of a sail, their sole ship is pulled by large poisonous snakes that even Sea Kings don't attack.
Luffy decides to build a raft, which Margaret says is a silly idea. After Luffy builds an absolute wreck of a raft, Margaret has to save him from drowning.
Margaret regards him as he is recovering and decides she has gotten too friendly. She attacks him, though she looks troubled by the decision.
Luffy dodges some explosively powerful arrows which manage to damage the boulder behind him. He questions why they are so powerful. Margaret replies that they are imbued with Ambition. Luffy asks what that means, but is interrupted when Aphelandra, Sweetpea and Kikyo arrive and attack him. He runs away as Sweetpea informs Margaret they need to get rid of him quickly, as the Snake Princess has arrived.
The scene shifts to the sea, where a Kuja pirate ship and a Marine ship are alongside each other. One of the Kuja pirates is impressed that the Marines have ventured into the Calm Belt. The Marine Commander, Vice Admiral Momonga, replies that staying there is not easy for them even with their seastone hull, noting that they were already attacked by a Sea King which lies dead nearby, but that since they are bound by a treaty between the World Government and the Kuja pirates, they cannot come within three kilometres of Amazon Lily.
A couple of the Marines mutter that Kuja pirates can turn people to stone, and one of the pirates asks Momonga if he was the one who killed the Sea King. Momonga remarks that Sea Kings are nothing uncommon, but their size in the calm belt is enormous, and recalls what happened earlier in the day.
In the flashback, the Marines are still awaiting the Kuja pirates when a massive Sea King bursts out from the sea. The Marines attack it, but neither their rifles nor artillery fire has any effect. Momonga jumps into the Sea Kings mouth and within seconds, the monster looks pained. We soon find out why as a giant cross shaped hole appears in its gut. Momonga jumps out, having killed the Sea King from the inside.
Back to the present, the Kuja's seem impressed by Momonga's act, but he is in no mood for talking, and demands that Pirate Empress Boa Hancock, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea show herself.
The Kuja's remark that the Snake Princess won't show herself. Momonga says that the time and place of the execution of the Whitebeard pirates second commander Portgas D Ace had been fixed and the World Government had issued an absolute order for all Warlords to attend, with anyone refusing to be stripped of their rank. He states that in such an event, the Kuja's crimes would no longer be ignored and they would become just another pirate crew to be hunted down by the Navy. Momonga then screams out as to whether Hancock had heard that...
Boa Hancock emerges from a door of the ship, kicking a cat out of her path. She walks up to the head of one of the giant snakes, which lowers its head close to the Marine ship.
Meanwhile, Luffy is still being pursued by the Amazons. He jumps into the trees and they split up to look for him.
Back to the sea, Hancock and her sisters Marigold and Sandersonia regard the Marines and Hancock states she lied about being willing to fight for the Government, but does not wish to lose her status as a Warlord. She also states she would like to have all the valuables from the Marine's ship. While Momonga screams for her to stop acting like a child, the lovestruck Marines are hurrying to give her the treasure until Momonga stops them.
Momonga says Ace will be executed in a week in the Navy headquarters, Marineford. All admirals and a great military force will be there to capture Newgate when he attempts to rescue Ace. Momonga demands that Hancock make her choice - attend, or have her status as a Warlord revoked.
Hancock says she likes being a warlord, but she hates the World Government and refuses the summons. She then makes a hypothetical case. "All the marines sent to summon me met a mysterious accident at sea and were turned to stone". The Marines go on their guard, as they recall a similar story from the past.
Hancock's sisters say she always gets her way. Hancock says this is because she is beautiful. The Marines and the pirates cheer her, but Momonga is not impressed. Hancock then forms her hands into a heart shape stating that all people who hold lust in their hearts for her will have their bodies harden, and emits a heart shaped beam from her hands called "Mero Mero Mellow"(Madly in love). All the Marines are turned to stone except Momonga, who has stabbed his hand to distract himself, which impresses Hancock, but she says he is now on his own.
Momonga states that "one" is not the same as "none" and as the Kuja's depart to Amazon Lily, screams that he will wait the full time limit the Government has given for her to return with him. Hancock’s parting words are "do as you wish".
Darkstorm’s Notes
The sequence where Momonga guts the Sea King is filler, and was only alluded to in the Manga. Momonga himself is one of the five Vice Admirals who answered the Buster Call at Enies Lobby.
