Grand Battle! Rush - Items

Like the previous Grand Battle games, Rush offers a variety of items which can aid you (and the opponent) in battle. Depending on the container, you can sort of expect the kinds of items that may appear from them, which will give you some advantage against your enemy.

Containers

Crates

  • Item 1
  • Item 2
  • Item 3

Treasure Chests

The best kind, you can always expect some kind of power-up from them.

  • Item 1
  • Item 2
  • Item 3

Barrels

  • Item 1
  • Item 2
  • Item 3

(need to do research on this)

Items

Sword

  • Main Effects

    • Increases strength
    • Unable to guard (R1, R2)

Assuming that you don't often guard, this is a very good item to grab. Your character will be surrounded by an orange aura and your attacks will appear (and sound) more hard-hitting than normal. While your power is up, use the opportunity to unleash everything you've got!

Shield

  • Main Effects

    • Increases defense
    • Decreases speed

Picking the shield up means a higher defense rating, but also a very slow character. Being able to run away is useful but it can't be done if your character is moving like a turtle. Still, you're most likely to survive a lot better if you chose to be a character with an already low defense rating. If speed is not a problem, the shield can be just as useful as the others.

Shoes

  • Main Effects

    • Increases speed
    • Increases jump
    • Decreases defense

With the shoes, your character is able to run really, really fast. Your jump has been increased as well so you can really fly all over the place. The only problem is if you get caught by your opponent, since your defense has been sacrificed. But with that kind of speed, how is your opponent going to catch you anyways?

Diamond

  • Main Effects

    • Allows a free Support, Grand, or Secret Rush without using up the gauge
    • Secret Rush will always show the full animation (which means a lot of damage!)
    • Only one chance with Secret Rush, if the activation technique doesn't connect the effect is wasted.

This is the one item that should always be sought after. If you have performed any Secret Rushes when you're in a tight bind, you'd notice that it can turn the tide in a battle very quickly. Depending on your health versus your opponent's health, the animation can stop at one of three places. If your health is higher than your opponent's and you perform a Secret Rush, then most likely the animation ends after the first one and the damage will be very minimal. With the diamond, you have only one chance to use its effect, so aim properly! If it connects, you can sit back and expect to watch the full animation. Even if you have full health and your opponent is down below half, you'll still perform the whole thing!

Bomb

  • Main Effects

    • Explodes upon impact with a character
    • Explodes after a period of time

Poison Mushroom

  • Main Effects

    • Can be thrown to release poison
    • Impact can cause poison

Beehive

  • Main Effects

    • If attacked, releases bees that chase
    • If thrown, releases bees
    • Movement is confused (directions switched)

Oil

  • Main Effects

    • Causes oil ailment upon impact
    • Movement is slipperty

Oil can make it very difficult to hold your ground in places where falling is very probable. Still, with oil, you can try to slide and attack which can be considered as a surprise. Attacking the item will automatically give you oil, as will throwing it and hitting your opponent causing him/her to receive the ailment.

Gaimon

  • Main Effects

    • If attacked, Gaimon shoots randomly
    • If grabbed, Gaimon can be used to shoot others

Bonfire

  • Main Effects

    • If grabbed, fire can be thrown at a short distance
    • Must have a few seconds before shots or else it'll backfire

The only problem with the bonfire is timing your shots so you don't get flamed. Rapidly shooting will only break it and spread the fire onto you. You play with fire, and you'll get burned!

If you do use the item properly, the fire will eventually disappear. That's when your character will throw it away after pressing the next time.

Eternal Pose

  • Main Effects

    • If grabbed, needle changes
    • If broken, needle pointing up fills the food gauge completely, down depletes it completely

Food

  • Main Effects

    • Restores a part of the food gauge
    • Meat restores a bit of health and a part of the food gauge

Food comes in all sorts of shapes, but the main one to look for is the meat on the bone. It not only restores a bit of your food gauge like the fruit, but it also restores some health. Double bonus!

Fruit is extremely plentiful in the boxes so you'll almost never have a problem filling up your gauge. You can also steal some from your opponent by pouncing on their heads. Don't hesitate to use them up!
