One Piece, a great manga, and a great anime..but what about the games? Well, I got my hands on one of these games. There have been many, but the one I am reviewing is a game called Treasure Battle, and it is for GameCube. Now you're probably wondering if it is any good. well, let me break it down for you.

First off, lets take a look at what there is and what the object of the game is. For the Scenario section, you can choose a team to play with. Monkey D. Luffy and Vivi for easy mode, Zoro and Ace for normal mode, Nami and Sanji for hard mode, and Usopp and Tony Tony Chopper for very hard mode. What happens is Luffy and the gang dock at an island where the Treasure Battle takes place. They are greeted by a man with a guitar named Rocky. After choosing a team, you battle the other three teams for treasure. What you do is run to the center of the island, grab the treasure, put it in your port, wait for your ship to arrive while fighting off the other team. Sounds easy, right? WRONG! It will get easy after many tries, but it always remains fun. After each win, you earn a card that can be used to unlock characters, costumes, bonus games, and more. After the first three battles, depending on what team you chose, you go against Mr. 2 and Rocky in 1 out of 4 events. Then its time for another Treasure Battle against a special team, determined by what team you chose. You can also play the Party mode or Match up, where up to 3 other friends can join you in the action. Bonus consists of different games which you have to unlock by completing a special deck.

The graphics in the game are great. It has a nice use of cell-shading and gives it a nice anime feel. Also, there are some cinema scenes that are basically anime clips made specifically for the game

The camera angle is nice and smooth. It is also easily controllable. If a building gets in your way, you can do something about it. You can also see what is behind you and if any opponents are running after you. Also, you can see where your partner is at all time on the bottom right corner. Sometimes though, it can be a bi*** when you go into a bird's-eye type of view, or when it rotates when you attack and another enemy runs pass you.

The sound for this game isn't that bad. Hikari e is used for the intro and credits. Some background music is annoying, but it is tolerable.

As for how gameplay goes, it is just fun to play, no more needed to say.
